Patricia Gelinas Gallery is an online virtual art gallery that specialises in one-of-a-kind and limited series decorative, functional and wearable works of art created by Quebec’s leading contemporary fine craft artists.
Responding to the need voiced by Quebec artists to reach beyond their borders and have more visibility on the world stage, Patricia Gelinas launched the online virtual gallery that bears her name. Our goal is to help artists navigate the business of art while promoting their outstanding work throughout the world via the internet. In addition to representing our exceptional artists, the gallery offers an array of services to collectors, fine craft artists, architects and designers, as well as to the corporate world.
Our artists are masters of their craft. Through their creativity and technical expertise, they bring forth works of art which are born from their unique identity; works of art that contribute to defining a progressive, modern and audacious culture steeped in tradition.
Patricia Gelinas Gallery is committed to offering a discerning clientele with personal impeccable customer service, unique and exclusive products and services, good value, speedy delivery, attentive follow-up and a relationship built on trust.
Patricia Gelinas is devoted to her artists and wishes to share their artworks with all people around the globe. She represents her artists and their works with passion and integrity looking forward to the future as the gallery grows and expands.
Patricia Gelinas has been deeply involved in the Arts all her life. She was trained from childhood in the fine arts of dance, drama, music and visual art, studying at prestigious artistic institutions such as the Alberta Ballet School, The Art Gallery of Alberta, The American Dance Festival, and the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance. Patricia received her formal education at Grant MacEwan College, Université Laval and Concordia University. She worked as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer and during her career performed works by many of Canada’s and Quebec’s foremost choreographers. She also taught for many years at the École de Danse de Québec, contributing to the training of young dance artists, many of whom are today shining stars on the international dance scene. During her dance career Patricia was also the recipient of art grants from the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Quebec, the Ludmilla Chiriaeff Foundation, United Kingdom’s Dance Artist Trust and the Canadian Dancer Transition Resource Center.
Upon retirement from the dance world, Patricia wished to expand her horizons and to help artists navigate the business of art, so she pursued studies in marketing, international business and accounting, graduating from Concordia University’s esteemed John Molson School of Business in Montreal where she currently resides.
Patricia’s profound artistic knowledge, her deep appreciation of the French Canadian culture and her newly acquired business skills led her to manage an important craft gallery where she represented artists locally and on the international stage at such celebrated events as SOFA (Sculpture, Object and Functional Art) in Chicago & New York, Palm Beach 3 International Contemporary Art Fair and the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show where Canada was the guest country in 2007.
Patricia is a volunteer at Opéra de Montréal.
Over the years, Patricia has built trusted relationships with artists and collectors and has become proficient at exporting works of art around the world.
